 Dear resident

A vehicle crime has been reported in your neighbourhoodIf you saw or heard anything or have any information about the below incident please call our non emergency number 101, quoting the reference number provided.Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

Reference: 20SH/247171M/20.Location: The Orchards, Cheswick Green.Date and time: Between 19:00pm on Saturday 10th October 2020 and 12:30am on Sunday 11th October 2020.Offence details:   Golf clubs and a tyre gauge were stolen from a secure grey BMW 3 series, with no damage made to the vehicle. Both the clubs and tyre gauge were later found not far from the offence location.

If your vehicle has keyless entry and you are concerned regarding the security of this feature then investigate whether it is possible to switch your car key's signal off. Check your manual to find out if your key has this function or ask your dealer if the system can be disabled.

Never leave your vehicle insecure or leave valuable items in your vehicle.

Installing a steering wheel lock, driveway parking post and/or a wheel clamp are great deterrents to car thieves. Please ensure that the keys to the steering wheel lock are kept separate to your car keys.

As an added protection against keyless theft you can also purchase a signal blocking pouch or tin and install a tracking device on your vehicle to aid in the recovery should your vehicle be stolen.

Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be conducting high visibility patrols of your area. Should you see anything that you deem to be suspicious then please either call 101 in a non emergency or report it via our online system at www.west-midlands.police.uk. In an emergency always call 999
