Sporting Memories is an opportunity for older sports fans to get together to talk sport over a cuppa. It aims to promote physical and mental well-being through reminiscence and tapping into passion, knowledge and love of sport. It is open to any one over the age of 50 who likes sport, and enjoys reminiscing about their experiences of watching or playing sport! It is free and takes place every Thursday 10.00 - 11.30am, at the Clubhouse, Worthing Football Club.
Sporting Memories provide amazing resources that can prompt discussion. They have a huge library of audio and visual memories from many sporting legends and some members also bring their own memorabilia to show and discuss. There is always great fun and laughter and you never know where the discussion will go.
The club will take place each Thursday and is guaranteed to have a really friendly, welcoming environment. Many of our existing members attend to enjoy the company of other older sports fans, some of our members live with memory problems or physical challenges, all have one thing in common, a love for sport!
The Worthing club will incorporate a little fun activitiy such as skittles and we are hoping to forge links with other clubs such as Walking Football, Walking Netball and Walking Cricket in the area.
